Spherical Resonators for Pump Skids

In many processes and applications, spherical resonators are the obvious choice over bladder-type dampers. Our earliest use of spherical resonators was almost 20 years ago, and we have continued to recommend this technology (where appropriate) ever since.
Why do we use resonators?
Resonators minimise pressure pulsations and we use them on the suction and discharge lines. The spherical design has two significant advantages over traditional bladder type dampers. Firstly, they are maintenance free. Secondly, they require no pre-charge. This means they can operate across the unit’s full operating pressure range without need for adjustment. Resonators are designed in accordance with pressure vessel design codes such as ASME VIII, EN 13445 and PD5500. All relevant load cases are considered including nozzle, blast, seismic, and fatigue as applicable.
