Hydrodemolition (or hydrodem) allows the safe, selective removal of concrete using ultra high pressure water. There are myriad reasons for using our hydrodemolition equipment. For instance, greater operator comfort, no damage to rebar, and no damage to underlying structure (no microcracks). Furthermore, hydrodemolition offers the ability to access confined work spaces, and gives increased productivity over traditional techniques.
Water Recycling and Filtration
A huge benefit of hydrodem is that the waste water can be filtered and recycled. The used water is collected and treated for re-use or for safe discharge back to its source. This is particularly useful where water is scarce or the supply suffers from frequent interruptions. However, even where there are no supply issues, recycling water really is the best option for our environment.

Hydrodemolition Safety Awareness Training
We are members of the Water Jetting Association (WJA). The WJA is a trade association representing contractors, manufacturers, hirers and other organisations in all aspects of high-pressure water jetting and has developed waterjetting codes of practice. Sweden was the first country to use hydrodemolition technology. Due to the large quantities of salt used to de-ice bridges, they needed a method of concrete removal that had these qualities:
- Selective removal – remove the bad and leave the good concrete.
- Rough surface – to achieve a good bonding surface.
- No micro cracks – cracks are a non-bonding surface.
- Clean surface – dust and dirt affect bonding.
