Responsibilities
Management of Calder projects to ensure on-time delivery to quoted cost. Liaison with the customer to ensure customer technical compliance and progress report. Management of all project activities from handover to customer product delivery and compliance.
- To plan and monitor project resources to achieve project compliance and on time delivery.
- To generate, manage and implement project plans.
- Report to customer on project progress against agreed schedule.
- To ensure compliance with all customer standards and relevant national and international specifications.
- To report monthly to the Calder management team on project with respect to progress and cost.
- Management of a multi-disciplined project team to ensure compliance to project deliverables.
- Client liaison and technical supplier liaison which often comprises face to face contact both within and outside the UK.
- SDRL Management and delivery to agreed project milestones.
- Production of documentation: quality management, procedures and documentation packs.
- To ensure where applicable that technical specification calculations are assigned to relevant resource.
- BOM management in conjunction with the Procurement Manager.
- Ensure all activities, including testing, are undertaken safely and to the requirements of the specific job.
- Liaison with design staff, Workshop Manager, After-Sales Manager, suppliers and customers during project implementation.
Requirements
- Project Engineering responsibility for projects valued between £30,000 and £5m.
- Experience of managing multi-disciplined engineering teams.
- Experience of industrial products and hazardous area working is desirable.
- Experience of diesel engines and/or motor-driven equipment in power ranges from 30 kW to 2000 kW is desirable.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and electro-mechanical control systems is desirable, but not essential.
- Experience of offshore or similar demanding documentation regimes is desirable.
- Experience of working on manufacturing projects which incorporate heavy equipment.
- Confident with engineering IT packages including project planning tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with suppliers and customers.
- Technical knowledge of pumping systems and/or “package-build” equipment using motors and diesel engines.
- A working knowledge of 3D CAD (Solid Edge or Solid Works) would be beneficial in the Industrial role.
- Experience of certification and associated documentation.
- Qualified Mechanical Engineer.
- Full driving licence required.
- Willingness to travel UK-wide and internationally.
