Two large, state-of-the-art, acoustically attenuated, test facilities give Calder the ability to conduct comprehensive testing prior to product despatch. Whether the pump package is supplied complete with electric motor, variable speed drive, diesel engine, with a full control system or is to be integrated into an existing drive/control system, the package can undergo extensive performance, noise and vibration testing.

Check out this video case study following a Calder engineer through a project to design, build, and test a pump skid for an offshore platform. The pump unit had to replace an existing, less powerful machine, but was limited to the existing footprint. Furthermore, the unit needed to be modular in order to be fed through the platform walkways to its operating location. Remote Factory Acceptance Test
Our customers are always welcome to witness the F.A.T. testing of their pump units. However, given the cost and time implications of getting here, we have a remote F.A.T. viewing capability.
The remote inspection and testing is implemented via Microsoft Teams. A meeting is set up by the local test team and remote inspection or test team members are invited to join. The local video streams are provided by two mounted cameras and/or mobile video. This can then be shared by the dedicated test area computer to the rest of the team members. Videos can be set to scroll from one to another at a pre-set speed or can be changed at the request of any team member.
